Color scheme is jarring and unattractive...

Thanks again for including me in your beta. I have a new suggestion:
I think the color scheme should be altered. The hot pinkish red is too harsh on the eyes. The color is actually painful to look at for more than a few seconds. And the dark blue is too dark. These two main colors don't work well together, nor do they work with the lighter, more twitter-colored blue you sometimes use (a shade which I do like).
I do like the gradient-shaded steel blue/gray in the Invia I'idea box a lot, however. It's classy and professional. I also like the beige color in the Ottiieni il tuocommenti forum box. I understand wanting to use strong colors to make your site stand out, but I suggest using different ones. I know you want to use a red color for the bullseye logo icon, but what about a more traditional bright red?
